Overview Tecolote Research Inc. is seeking a Billing Specialist to work in the Corporate Accounting group located in either the Oxnard or Goleta, California locations. This position will directly support the generation of monthly project-based invoices for the companys government and prime contractor clients and will be involved in reconciliation and collection related activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly invoices for Cost Type, Time and Materials, Labor Hour, and Firm Fixed Price contract types
• Verification of Project set up in Deltek Costpoint Accounting System
• Setup of bid and proposal projects in Deltek Costpoint Accounting System
• Troubleshoot billing issues
• Transmit invoices through electronic payment system portals
• Research and resolve accounts receivable aging/collection issues
• Prepare project accounting reconciliations

Skills Required

• Strong experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects, monitor workflow, and maintain cooperative working relationships
• Knowledge in the areas of accounting principles, project accounting, FAR/DFAR, Cost Accounting Standards, WAWF and different project types is a plus
• Bachelors degree (business, accounting, finance or related field) or 4 years experience in an accounting or contracts related role
