Title EEG Technician - Float Category Technicians Location All MCN locations Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Shift Days Work schedule Mon - Thurs, 7:30 - 5:00 Req Number TEC-24-00002 Open Date 9/26/2024 Description The EEG Technician will perform routine, ambulatory video and telephone transmission electroencephalogram and evoked potential testing for referred patients. Prepares patients and provides patient education regarding procedures, performs tests, and processes test results for interpretation by physician. Is also responsible to maintain testing equipment and perform work related to billing. Travels to designated clinic sites and hospitals, transporting necessary testing equipment. Monday - Thursday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. Must be able to travel to different MCN locations, including Burnsville, Edina, Golden Valley and Maple Grove. Includes mileage reimbursement. Position Requirements Graduate of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology Program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Education in Neurodiagnostic Technology. One to three years of experience in EEG tech position preferred. Evoked Potential/Nerve Conduction experience helpful. Ability to perform EEG's with a high degree of accuracy and reliability. Ability to function effectively under pressure. Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost judgment and discretion. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be patient focused. Must be able to work independently, exhibit mature judgment and make sound decisions. Proficiency with electronic health record (Epic preferred) and MS Office suite. Valid MN driver's license required; ability to travel to designated clinic sites, including occasionally to clinics outside the Twin Cities metro area. Physical requirements: Ability to occasionally lift and handle supplies and equipment weighing up to 55 pounds. Ability to sit and stand for at least one hour during the patient testing process. Ability to twist, turn and stoop frequently during the course of the day.
