Goddard Public Schools is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to serve as a School Nurse for the 2024-2025 school year. The School Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality healthcare services to students, monitoring student health and wellness, and collaborating with school staff and families to support student health and academic success.\ Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality healthcare services, including assessments, treatments, and medication administration as needed.
- Monitor student health and wellness, including managing chronic health conditions, identifying and responding to contagious illnesses, and promoting healthy behaviors.
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with special health needs, in collaboration with families and healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for all students, including immunization records, medication administration logs, and emergency contact information.
- Develop and deliver health education programs to students, families, and staff, promoting healthy behaviors and wellness.
- Collaborate with school staff, including teachers, counselors, and administrators, to support student health and academic success.
- Respond to medical emergencies as needed and provide first aid and CPR as necessary.
- Comply with all district policies, state and federal laws, and professional standards related to school nursing practice.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kansas.
- Bachelor\'s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing or school nursing preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families, and healthcare providers.
- Current certification in CPR, AED, and first aid.
