Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce Director of Membership & Community Outre in Gloversville, New York
NY1518668 Director of Membership & Community Outreach needed 32 Hrs/week; Wage range $20-$22/hr plus ad sales commission; paid time off. Potential for a full time position after 6 months of employment
Role:Primary lead in growing & retaining membership by introducing businesses to the value of joining the organization & building strong relationships with current members to support retention efforts -Develop marketing collateral to help promote the Chamber, members, & events, assist in securing Chamber sponsorships & encourage participation at all Chamber events
Duties: Works to recruit new members, focusing on the business/organization's needs via phone calls, in-person meetings, & utilizing business recruitment list & manage all aspects of on-boarding. -Communicates with staff to track & schedule all deliverable benefits (i.e. sending content for eBlasts, Member Spotlights, social media posts, etc.) -Interact daily with members in-person, via phone, Zoom, Google meet, & email -Works with the Executive Director to create & develop the collateral for the execution of the membership recruitment/retention tasks including, but not limited to, introductory letters & programs for memberships, sponsorships, & committee communication -Assist in the creation & packaging of new member information & welcome packets -Inputs all communications and data in CRM to ensure the system is accurate, that all information regarding join/drop reasons & ongoing communication are correctly recorded and ensures that the information collected meets the needs of the Chamber team -Monitors DBA lists on a monthly basis -Maintains information keeping data up-to-date for invoicing -Monitors & tracks outstanding accounts, ensuring timely collection of dues from members -Resolves outstanding additional aging report receivables by collaborating with members to ensure timely payments -Assist to organize logistics & help manage all Chamber events in a way that produces maximum revenue and profit, attendance, & community involvement -Oversees the Ambassador program; recruits committee members & Chamber Ambassadors, creates quarterly meeting agenda/minutes, & creates collateral for program -Identifies opportunities for sponsorships, event venues, & partnership opportunities -Represent the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber at events, meetings, & on committees as needed -Interacts with visitors, including responding to phone calls & questions from the public, members, & the City, and respective counties, when necessary -Responsible for promotion & sales for Newsline & Destination One Ads -Works with Newsline Editor to create monthly content -Promotes Chamber Check Program to members, & lead to encourage businesses to participate in program -Attends & assists staff at Chamber events, such as networking meetings & major events. -Support Chamber Executive Director, Chamber Staff & Board of Directors as required. Reports to Board of Directors monthly -Attends meetings & trainings as required -Creates quarterly & yearly goals with the Executive Director, & completes quarterly & year-end goal review & self-reflection assessments
Qualifications: Associates Degree in Business Administration Required, BA Degree in Business, Communications, or Marketing preferred -2+ years of customer service and/or sales experience. Formal sales skills training a plus Professional phone and communications skills are required. -Experience with Zoom, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher), Google Applications, Adobe, & CRM software programs -Excellent communication skills -Volunteer experience -NYS Driver's license & reliable transportation
