Job Title: Operations - Inspector 4

Job Type: Full-time; Consultant (6 Months)

Location: Gloucester, MA 01930

Schedule: Monday to Friday; First Shift 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (Manager flexible on start time)

Pay Rate: $32.69 per hour

Job Summary:

As an Operations Inspector 4, you will conduct inspections of various products, including parts, assemblies, raw materials, tooling, and instruments, to verify compliance with design specifications and contract requirements. Utilizing a range of basic inspection methods and tools, you will assess quality at defined stages in the manufacturing process.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Inspection Tasks: Use measuring and inspection instruments, such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers, with proper inspection techniques to evaluate product quality.

• Documentation Review: Interpret and follow Quality policies, procedures, blueprints, and other relevant documentation.

• Inspection Processes: Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections, including 1st article approval for manufactured, assembled, and tested components.

• System Operation: Utilize computer systems to perform and document inspection tasks.

• Verification: Confirm accuracy and completeness of all work order documentation.

• Visual and Physical Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of units and subassemblies.

• Unit Shakedowns: Complete unit shakedowns as necessary to check for foreign objects, rattles, and loose internal hardware.

• First Article Inspections: Execute First Article Inspections and manage related documentation.

• File Management: Perform administrative tasks related to managing files.

• Material Reviews: Conduct Preliminary Material Reviews (PMR) as required.

Qualifications:

• Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong mechanical inspection skills with experience using:

• Thread gauges

• Micro-hite

• Drop indicators

• Surface indicators

• Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation (preferred but not required)

• First Article Inspection

• Visual inspection

• Proficiency in reading and comprehending blueprints, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

• Previous experience in mechanical inspections is essential.

• Ability to pass a vision test.

Pay Details: $32.69 per hour
