Sargent & Lundy Senior Electrical Engineer - Client Liaison in San Juan,
Description
This position will offer you the opportunity to support the Sargent & Lundy project team that is performing detailed design and engineering for new power generation and battery energy storage systems in Puerto Rico.
You will primarily work in the client’s offices in San Juan to coordinate between the client and the Sargent & Lundy project team. You will also spend time in the Sargent & Lundy office in San Juan and work directly with the project team members.
You will be in a client facing role to support daily project needs such as project funding, project planning and coordination, technical design, construction support, and procurement support.
Coordinate and support other contractors regarding project execution, construction management, and funding allocation.
Support and provide guidance to the client regarding critical project activities.
Support internal Sargent & Lundy team members by providing direction and guidance based on client decisions.
Assist in efforts to ensure the projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
Participate in project meetings and presentations, effectively communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Travel to plant site locations as required.
Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:
A Bachelor's of Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required and an emphasis in power systems is preferred.
PE license highly preferred or ability to earn a PE license is required.
10 or more years of experience with power plant design, with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new plants, or modifications or replacements for existing plants.
Proven experience in project management, with a PMP certification preferred.
Must be bilingual in both English and Spanish (read, speak, and write).
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
This position in based in San Juan, Puerto Rico and will require occasional travel.
Valued but not required skills and experience:
Familiarity with Puerto Rico power generation, and experience working for or with PREPA.
Technical knowledge and experience with instrumentation and controls engineering.
Construction and start-up experience a plus.
