WESCO Manager - Online Marketplace in Glenview, Illinois

As the Manager - Online Marketplace, you will implement overall strategy for Wesco’s online marketplace. You will create effective business plans to generate more revenue, increase product lines, and expand into new product and customer segments and improve customer satisfaction. You will analyze and monitor business and supplier performance; as well as provide solutions and new ways to strengthen the company's competitive position within the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Drives achievement of financial growth and profitability objectives for Marketplace suppliers

  • Collaborate with category management, third party platforms, existing and new suppliers, information technology and product team to implement and expand best in class marketplace features

  • Establishes relationships with potential customers and suppliers, and discusses unmet needs, problems, or complaints, and arranges for meetings with appropriate WESCO representatives

  • Drives implementation of new marketplace suppliers and product expansion for national and global sourcing

  • Develops supplier agnostic assessments of market position to ensure Marketplace is hosting the right product with the right mix to the right markets at the right price

  • Collaborates with category management team to ensure uniform, consistent process is defined and implemented across organization’s suppliers, including rebates, terms, agreements, etc.

  • Retains and expands existing company relationships, product lines, or market segments, and solicits new business from prospective customers and suppliers

Qualifications:

  • Business or related field or equivalent education and work experience required; Master's Degree - Business or related field preferred

  • Licenses/Certificates/Designations - Logistics or project management certification preferred

  • 5 years required, 7 years preferred of market insights, product management, marketing, and supplier relationship management experience

  • 2 years required, 5 years preferred of industrial distribution experience

  • 2 years supervising or leading team members preferred

  • Knowledge of industry including suppliers, customers, and competitors

  • Experience in negotiating contracts and knowledge of key contractual language

  • Ability to initiate and develop relationships with internal and external key decision makers

  • Strong business analysis skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong computer skills

  • People management skills

  • Strong project management skills, including ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple efforts with strong results and goal orientation

  • Practical problem-solving approach to business issues, business-minded, results-oriented, and a team player preferred

  • Ability to influence individuals and teams with or without reporting relationships preferred

  • Ability to travel 0% - 25%
