ACTION FOR EASTERN MT Certified Local Ombudsman in GLENDIVE, Montana
Aging Services Certified Local Ombudsman
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Associates degree in Human Services or a related field
- One year experience in working with the elderly or people with disabilities preferred
- A combination of higher education and relevant experience may be used
- Ability to work well with the elderly, family members, and other staff
- Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver's license
- Freedom and willingness to travel
- Acceptable mode of transportation
- Ability to handle stressful mediating situations
- Ability to work in long term care facilities
- Ability to climb stairs
- Some lifting required, generally 5-25 pounds
- Will need to attend and pass initial certification training session and obtain the required number of hours for recertification
Position performs certified ombudsman duties to include: visit long-term care facilities, work to resolve complaints, develop and maintain effective working relationships, prepare and submit reports, train and educate staff, conduct community education activities.
