Eaton Corporation Regional OPEX Manager in Glendale Heights, Illinois

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Regional OPEX Manager for its Satellites Business Unit in the Commercial Products and Assemblies Division. The Regional OPEX Manager position is a hybrid role requiring approximately 50% travel and can be based in Smyrna, GA, Morrisville, NC, or Glendale Heights, IL. Relocation assistance will be provided for those residing outside of a 50 mile radius of one of those locations.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $108749.97 - $159499.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. What you’ll do:

In this role you will lead /direct Manufacturing Engineering, Facility Engineering, and lean manufacturing improvement activities, develop and execute the strategic vision related to assigned functional responsibilities and assure activities are aligned with business objectives, and interface as necessary with Customers, Supply Chain, Engineering, CMSC Leadership, ELSS and other internal /external disciplines to assure safety, quality, and cost control.

Essential Functions:

• Apply knowledge of lean production systems to improve manufacturing processes and drive capacity through productivity. Develops and communicates business cases to change current processes that involve ESSG and Division improvement priorities and develops recommendations for improvement.

• Support needs of 8 assigned CMSC Site Management teams to improve key “High 5” measures (safety, quality/CONC, delivery, labor, cost).

• Direct and lead Facilities activities. Develop/oversee capital budgets and moves related to CMSC expansions and moves as required. Ensure completion of negotiations with facility move vendors regarding price, terms, quality, tooling, transportation. Maintains move playbook to ensure standardization for facility moves, analysis and execution.

• Direct and lead Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering. Serve as the manufacturing capital equipment expert and improves flow by leveraging appropriate fabrication and flow technologies.

• Utilize leadership skills and the ability to drive teamwork, across functional disciplines to drive lean thinking, Eaton Business System (ELSS/EQS) and Eaton’s Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF).

• Lead and support Yellow Belt certification projects along with other problem solving and on the job training in assigned CMSC sites.

• Serve as internal Lean subject matter expert and acts as a primary instructor for the ELSS training program and serves as lead instructor for the Safety Observation and CIF train-the-trainer program.

• Represent OPEX in PROLaunch and DGC gate reviews, with an eye for Value Engineering and Quality. Focuses primarily on “Design for Manufacturability” review, process flow, standardization and liaison with Product Lines and large plants for Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, and continuous improvement.

• Support other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited institute

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in one or more of the following: Lean Six Sigma, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and/or supply chain

• Minimum of 1 year of direct supervisory experience

• Ability to travel 50% of the time

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or Supply Chain Management.

• 3+ years experience with direct supervisory experience, program management, strategic roles, and leadership preferred

• PROLaunch/New Product/Process development preferred

• Familiarization with capital equipment and machine guarding preferred

• Lean Six Sigma trained and Certified – Green or Blackbelt preferred
