Job Title: Safety Manager

Job Description

We are looking for an individual with the flexibility to manage site safety. This dynamic position will be split between two responsibilities and will have a home office located in Glen Burnie, MD. Travel to various job sites from the Baltimore area to job sites around the I-81 corridor in MD, VA, and WV will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and execute health & safety guidelines.

  • Conduct and track safety training, including new hire orientation, annual training, and lift training.

  • Communicate guidelines to employees and develop relevant policies to maintain a safe workplace.

  • Investigate accidents/incidents and provide recommendations for improvement and prevention.

  • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.

  • Report on health, safety, and environmental practices on job sites to assess conditions.

  • Meet with management to determine current needs for craft labor new hires.

  • Seek qualified talent based on qualities, skills, and responsibilities needed to excel in open positions.

  • Conduct interviews and review with management to decide on the best applicants for positions.

  • Communicate expectations of employment and ensure company policies are followed.

  • Onboard and provide safety training for new hires.

  • Develop job descriptions.

Essential Skills

  • OSHA 510 & 500 certification required.

  • 3-5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in an industrial environment.

  • Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies.

  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines and OSHA safety regulations.

  • Experience in a hiring role that involves recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding employees.

  • Reliable transportation with an active driver’s license.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Industrial experience.

  • Experience with utility piping, valves, and instrumentation.

Work Environment

This position will involve working on and off job sites throughout the DMV area. Flexibility to travel in the Baltimore Metro Area (Aberdeen, MD to Washington, DC) is required. The work schedule is at least 40 hours per week (Mon – Thu on a 4-10’s schedule or Mon- Fri on a 5-8s schedule), with the flexibility to work overtime as needed. Some night shifts may be required, depending on client needs. Standard PPE is provided. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
