Anderson's Glen Arbor Market, Inc d/b/a Anderson's Market located in Glen Arbor, MI has opening for 1 full time temporary Maintenance Worker, $17.50/hr to $18.50/hr ($26.25/hr to $27.75/hr O.T.) from 5/15/2025 to 10/31/2025. Duties: Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the interior and exterior property, change out trash receptacles when full, clean up  spills/breakages within the store, occasional loading/unloading of dishwasher, sweep/mop floors, clean bathrooms, mow or trim lawns or shrubbery, keep grounds clear of debris/trash, complete minor repairs of displays, fixtures, interior/exterior portions of building and/or equipment, scrape/paint interior and exterior as needed, follow proper safety and sanitation procedures as required by Anderson's Market & Health Department at all times, help promote a healthy and safe work environment.

No exp. req. Must be able to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time; must be able to lift up to 50#. The specific days and hours of work will vary depending on scheduling and the level of business at the Market but will generally be 5 days per week with rotating days off with 2 shifts available; 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm or 4:00 pm to close. Approximately 40 hours per week with some overtime possible, with 10 hours per week maximum. The business is open 7 days per week, weekend and holiday work will be required.

This posting is being made in connection with an application for H-2B workers.

Workers are paid every two weeks. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law, as well as housing deduction, but will make no other deductions.

Work tools, supplies and equipment will be provided without charge or deposit. Raises and bonuses may be available based on performance or length of service with the employer. Free meal and beverage during shift, Associate discount on select product. Discretionary performance bonus.

If required by prevailing law the employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees) incurred by the worker. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.

The employer has a limited number of shared housing units available for rent by seasonal workers at a cost to the worker of $125.00 per week. Use of employer provided housing is not a condition of employment.  If a worker rents housing from the employer, the employee will be asked to agree to have the rent deducted from their biweekly pay.

Employer does not provide transportation to and from work location during the term of employment. We do have a few vehicles that will be available for their use with valid driving credentials.
