Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant based in Glen Allen, Virginia. In this role, you will be managing payments received, ensuring timely collections from clients, and addressing queries from various internal teams. You will also be involved in maintaining relationships with insurance carriers and driving process improvements. This role demands excellent skills in account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all received payments on agency bill and reconcile to company invoices

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely receipt of payments from clients

• Address queries from Sales Executives, Account Managers, and carriers, conduct relevant research, and resolve disputes

• Cultivate and manage relationships with insurance carriers to ensure a smooth payable process

• Prepare and approve journal entries

• Conduct or review account reconciliations on a monthly basis

• Identify opportunities for and implement process improvements

• Handle ad-hoc projects and miscellaneous responsibilities as needed

• Leverage Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP to perform duties effectively. Requirements • Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliations

• Extensive experience with general ledger operations and the month-end close process

• Demonstrable ability to record and evaluate journal entries

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with its data analysis tools

• Experience with accounting software, specifically NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP

• Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

• Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus.
