The Legal Department Paralegal/Administrator will work closely with Platform Legal and Compliance team members and other business functions (such as Finance, Supply Chain/Procurement, HR and Internal Audit) in promoting efficient operations and supporting legal and compliance initiatives. He or she will provide a range of paralegal and administrative support, including the key responsibilities set forth below. This is a dynamic role that requires a responsive, collaborative individual with high agility, professionalism, and the ability to be comfortable in a lean and rapidly changing environment.

This position is part of the Legal Department located in Glen Allen, Virgina and will be on-site.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Providing direct and efficient support to the legal department on all corporate, litigation and compliance matters

  • Supporting subsidiary management program and coordinating process improvements and audits across the enterprise

  • Assisting with the contract review process, including initially reviewing requests to ensure the request is complete and understanding the type of documents included for review, effectively corresponding with the appropriate parties (and being the primary point of contact for the business), assigning requests to the respective legal team members, maintaining deadlines and action items, and formatting and proofing final documents, to expedite review time

  • Creating and maintaining legal department files and maintaining a contracts management system

  • Reviewing and drafting responses for various legal requests, such as letters and certifications, insurance, corporate reporting, etc.

  • Aiding the legal team members with scheduling, planning, coordination and other logistical tasks

  • Processing invoices from outside counsel and other legal vendors and assist in implementing electronic billing and budget management

  • Drafting (with guidance), editing, and proofreading legal related reports, policies, communications, and training materials

  • Assisting with the development of legal team project plans, including timelines and milestones and status tracking

  • Assisting with basic legal research

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • 3+ years’ experience in the legal department of a corporation as a paralegal (5 to 7 years’ experience preferred)

  • Associate degree or Paralegal Certificate required (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint), and database software

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to assist with and prioritize multiple projects contemporaneously and

  • Ability to conduct basic legal research and strong attention to detail.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $38.50 - $43.50 USD per hour. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
