Job Summary
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced engineer for a Fleet role for the Dominion Energy In-Service Inspection (ISI) Program. The corporate Nuclear Engineering and Fuel department has two Program Fleet Leads who share the responsibilities of program governance, oversight, and performance of the Inservice Inspection Program and Containment Inservice Inspection (CISI) Program for the seven nuclear reactors in the fleet. The Fleet Lead is responsible for the following key activities associated with program management and implementation: Providing overall responsibility of the management and implementation of the ISI/CISI program across the nuclear fleet, including preparing outage inspection scopes and updates to the ISI Plans. Ensuring that the nuclear stations have a consistent approach for handling in-service inspection. Functioning as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for containment inspection and testing, working with Responsible Engineers at each station to implement IWE and IWL program requirements. Preparing and maintaining program documents in accordance with appliable industry requirements and best practices, including periodic updates. Preparing the periodic ISI Program health report. Make periodic presentations to Station and Corporate Leadership on program health, industry issues, and changes in regulatory requirements and guidance. Preparing regulatory submittals such as relief requests and alternative requests for submittal to the NRC. Acting as lead for regulatory or other industry interfaces (e.g., NRC, INPO) including coordination of responses to NRC findings, INPO Areas for Improvement (AFIs), and Oversight findings. Leading ISI program self-assessments for the Dominion Energy nuclear sites. Participating in industry meetings on behalf of Dominion Energy. Reviewing operating experience (OE) for impact on the ISI Program and documenting action plans in the applicable plant corrective action system. Interfacing with other program leads to ensure the augmented in-service inspection programs (i.e., inspections required by documents other than ASME Section XI such as NRC Bulletins, FSAR, Technical Specifications, and other site-specific commitments) are implemented in accordance with requirements. Coordinating with Level III NDEs to support outage implementation of the ISI Program. The most qualified candidate for this position would have Completed training in area of expertise through approved industry groups such as EPRI, NACE, ASME, etc. Work experience with 10CFR50.55a, ASME Section XI, and familiarity with non-destructive examination processes; Experience with preparing requests for relief from NRC requirements and interacting with the NRC to obtain approval. A demonstrated ability to coordinate inspection work activities with multiple nuclear plant departments and vendors; and Effective communication skills for engaging nuclear management, station stakeholders, vendors, and the regulator
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
Engineer II (3+ years of relevant engineering experience); Engineer III: 5+ years of relevant engineering experience PLUS a BS Degree in Engineering for Titled Engineers
Provides expert technical consultation to other engineers and management;Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead;Strong planning and project management skills; Strong technical and organizational leadership skills; Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing); Proven decision making skills; Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems; Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices; Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks; Equally effective working independently or in team environment.
PREFERRED: ASME Section XI experience; Project management experience; NDE method certifications/experience.
REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA: For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met: Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license
