[GENERAL DESCRIPTION: [Under general supervision, incumbent plans, coordinates and oversees all Makerspace activities, programs, and functions. Develops curricula, teaching technical skills and inspiring creativity and innovation among Makerspace users of all ages. *[ESSENTIAL DUTIES:]{arial",sans-serif"=""}]{arial",sans-serif"=""}]{arial",sans-serif"=""}*
- Collaborates with library colleagues, school personnel and other community partners to offer Science, Technical, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics programming and instruction.
- Develops curricula and teaches workshops for community creators and makers on the safe and efficient use of Makerspace equipment.
- Evaluates success of programs and classes to inform future program planning.
- Plans, schedules, and oversees work activities of assigned staff and volunteers.
- Develops safety protocols, trains staff and volunteers, including updates on changes to equipment, supplies, or procedure.
- Ensures equipment is maintained in good working order and troubleshoots problems with functioning. Ensures the Makerspace Room is maintained in a clean, organized and safe manner. Ensures adequate inventory and coordinates room scheduling.
- Promotes Makerspace and related programming through press releases, flyers, posters, social media, outreach visits, and colleagues throughout the community.
- Prepares statistical reports on numbers and types of programs, participation, and participant demographics, equipment, materials and room use.
- Contributes to a respectful and safe work environment by fostering a culture of positive communication and ethical behavior, with an emphasis on providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Enhances professional competency through participation in continuing training programs and professional associations. Identifies new and emerging technologies and services to inform Makerspace programming and instruction.

- Participates in the selection and evaluation of assigned staff and volunteers.
- Contributes to the development of Makerspace policies and procedures.
- Contributes to the inclusion of Makerspace-related topics in the Library Collection.
