Nemak USA Inc. Sr. Tooling Engineer in Glasgow, Kentucky

Responsible for leading the tooling design standards and strategies for corporate operations at the plant; serve as the primary point of contact and reference for tooling maintenance, as well as preventative and corrective maintenance items related to tooling; lead the tracking of engineering revision levels for both the part model and die database; monitor tooling uptimes for assigned die families; utilize and apply knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing methodologies, SolidWorks, CATIA, CAMWorks, AutoCAD, 3D modeling, and reverse engineering to perform assigned duties; generate an improvement roadmap of countermeasures for all top tooling issues causing downtime and stops; generate proposals to fix die casting defects, solder, cold flows, porosity, and lamination, by using HPDC technologies; launch flow and thermal simulations with proposals to fix HPDC defects; analyze quality data as 3D scans, and make CMM reports to propose possible solutions to address quality dimension defects; participate in and support the CAD department and Tool shop designers in proposing redesigns for products, dies and trim dies; lead the design of countermeasures and engineering trials based on established improvement roadmaps; implement countermeasures and trials using test card and PCR processes; and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions using quantitative and statistical tools. Location: 20 Prestwick Dr., Glasgow, Kentucky, 42141;Salary: $103,247 per yearEducation: Bachelors - Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree).Training: NoneExperience: Three (3) years in the position above, as a Manufacturing Engineer, as a Design and Manufacturing Tooling Engineer, as a Project Engineer, or in a related occupation. Other Requirements: Experience must include three (3) years use of all the following: machining processes, cutting tools, Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing methodologies, SolidWorks, CATIA, CAMWorks, AutoCAD, 3D modeling, and reverse engineering.Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
