Aggreko Section Manager in Glasgow, United Kingdom

We are hiring immediately for a Section Manager - This role will be based at our Lomondgate / Dumbarton location.

The main purpose is to manage the Production section (Generator assembly, repair, refurb, sub assembly, Test and Non-Power products) to meet quality, cost, H&S and delivery targets.

What you’ll do:

Production Management:

  • Achieve production targets, monitor KPIs (cost, quality, delivery).

  • Coordinate sub-assembly manufacturing and ensure quality and cost targets are met.

  • Manage and recruit staff to meet production plans; handle performance and conflict management.

  • Lead daily production meetings, communicate status/issues, and support technical problem solving.

Health & Safety:

  • Participate in Health and Safety committee and accident prevention.

  • Investigate accidents/near misses, ensure risk assessments, and maintain safety practices.

  • Conduct and manage safety audits.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Support and lead CI initiatives to enhance cost, quality, and delivery.

  • Implement process improvements and ensure compliance with new procedures.

  • Lead small projects (5S, H&S) and manage NPI (New Product Introduction) plans.​

You’ll have the following skills and experience:

Education/Qualifications:

  • SVQ Level III in People/Business Management preferred.

  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualifications through an apprenticeship or learning institute desirable.

Professional Skills/Experience:

  • Staff management experience in a production environment.

  • Experience in the assembly and testing of electro/mechanical products.

  • Knowledge of asset lifecycle repair and refurbishment.

  • Familiarity with ISO9001, 14001, and 18001 Quality and EH&S management systems.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent, with experience in delivering performance improvement projects.

Personal Skills/Experience:

  • Results-driven, dynamic, and focused on achieving production goals.

  • Capable of meeting aggressive targets in quality, cost, productivity, and delivery.

  • Strong planning and coordination skills.

  • Ability to foster a productive working environment.

  • Self-motivated with a positive and flexible attitude to change.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to motivate and develop team members.

  • Strong IT skills.
