What will you do?

  • Maintain/Establish a strong team and organisational structure aligned to the current AOP (Annual Operating Plan)and future business strategy including succession planning for all key roles.

  • Ownership for achieving HUK New Build AOP (Annual Operating Plan) for Bookings, Sales, Margin and Cash

  • Ensure there is a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly cycle of processes/meetings/briefings to support the focus upon and achievement of the business AOP and be prepared to act immediately to recover the situation if any areas are off track

  • Establish a winning team ethos and team spirit throughout the organization and that the whole team are clear upon the plan ahead and feel inspired to go above and beyond in achieving that

  • Monitor and maintain all processes and procedures to ensure compliance and with all Chart/Howden company policies and ensure adherence to company environmental, health and safety standards in compliance with company policies (Including risk management) to ensure a safe working environment and the minimisation of environmental impact there by maintaining the required of HUK registrations (ISO9001, etc.)

What do you bring?

To be successful you must have …

  • Bachelors’ degree in Engineering with a substantial body of relevant project/commercial experience in an engineering organisation or MBA qualified with extensive technical experience in engineering organisations.

  • Strong integrity and leadership skills and prepared to lead by example where necessary, but also able to delegate, empower and inspire a multidisciplinary team.

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to handle the challenges of operating in a variety of markets where Customer and Supplier cultures may differ from our own

  • Able to understand a set of company accounts and other financial report, and familiar with all the financial instruments such as Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, Fx Forward Contract, etc.

  • Strong commercial knowledge of working with international customers. (Legal understanding, commercially astute, tough negotiator and a track record of successfully claiming variations from).

  • Good team player with strong inter-personal skills and a pragmatic no-nonsense approach.

It’s a bonus if you have...

  • Have either formal qualification or extensive experience in using LEAN type continuous improvement

  • Ability to assess and understand risks and effective mitigations.

  • High level of self-motivation and results focused. Sets strong objectives for others.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Supply Chain processes, import/export (Incoterms and VAT) both in theory and practice.

  • Able to solve issues at granular level and equally visualise the implications of issues strategically.
