Waste Connections General Laborer in Gig Harbor, Washington

We have an immediate position available for a Laborer at our LRI Purdy Compost Facility in Gig Harbor, WA.

In this position, you will wear many hats. Your primary duties may include directing traffic, operating site ancillary equipment, site housekeeping, and maintaining the site control systems for stormwater, landfill gas, and leachate management.

If you don't mind getting your hands dirty and are a self-motivated, hardworking individual with good communication skills, we want to talk to you. This is a full-time, year-round position with a great company.

Pay and Schedule:

  • Weekend work is required Sunday through Thursday, 7 am - 3:30 pm.

  • Starting p ay will be between $21.00 and $22.00 per hour.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform assigned duties working at the transfer station.

  • General site clean up.

  • Possible small equipment operation

  • Flagging / Directing traffic as it comes through.

  • Helping / Interacting with customers.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • At least one year of work experience. Preferably in a position where you utilize customer service skills.

  • The ability to stand outside throughout a 10-hour shift.

  • The ability to lift to 50 lbs. regularly.

  • Must pass a drug screen and pre-employment background check.

  • Safety Sensitive: Yes.
