Zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt bieten wir für Masterstudierende im Bereich EV-Batteriesysteme am Standort Gießen ein Praktikum und eine Abschlussarbeit an:

„ Development and analysis of thermal management systems for electric vehicle (EV) batteries, from cell to pack level, with a focus on thermal runaway”

Ihre Aufgaben:

• Durchführen von Dichtungs-/Leckagetests, Heizplatten-, Flammen- und Drucktests im Labormaßstab.

• Analysieren von Versuchsergebnissen, Ziehen von Schlussfolgerungen und Erstellen von Berichten und Präsentationen

• Gemeinsames Entwerfen und Simulieren verschiedener Konzepte für Auslassventile und Kühl-/Isoliersysteme in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Entwicklungsteam

Ihr Profil:

• Bachelorabschluss in Fahrzeugtechnik, Maschinenbau oder einem vergleichbaren Studienfach

• Erfahrung mit verschiedenen Testgeräten oder Bereitschaft zum Erlernen und Arbeiten mit diesen

• Erfahrung mit mindestens einer dieser Software und Bereitschaft zum Erlernen des Rests:

• FEM-Simulation für statische/dynamische und thermische Prozesse mit Ansys

• CFD-Simulation von externer Strömung und thermischer Analyse mit Ansys-Fluent

• CAD-Modellierung mit CATIA V5

• Starke analytische Fähigkeiten sowie Forschungs- und Problemlösungskompetenz

• Flexibilität und selbstständige Aufgabenerledigung.

• Gute Englisch- und gute Deutschkenntnisse sind erforderlich

At the earliest possible date, we are offering an internship and thesis for master’s degree students in the field of EV battery system at Giessen site with the topic:

"Development and analysis of thermal management systems for electric vehicle (EV) batteries, from cell to pack level, with a focus on thermal runaway."

Your tasks:

• Performing sealing/leakage, hot plate, flame, and pressure tests in laboratory scale.

• Analyzing experimental results, drawing conclusions, and preparing report and presentation.

• Collaborative design and simulation of various exhaust valve and cooling/insulation system concepts in conjunction with the development team.

Your profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Automotive, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable field of study.

• Experienced with, or demonstrates a willingness to learn and work with, various testing equipment.

• Experienced with or at least one of these software and willing to learn the rest;

• FEM static/dynamic and thermal simulation with Ansys

• CFD simulation of external flow and thermal analysis with Ansys-Fluent

• CAD modeling with CATIA V5

• Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Being flexible and performing tasks Independently.

• Proficiency in German and English is required
