Description:

  • The Emergency Department (ED) Technician assists medical and nursing staff in providing technical support for patient care in the emergency room setting.

Responsibilities:

  • The ED Technician's responsibilities include collecting, communicating and documenting data and information

  • Performing diagnostic testing, surveillance and monitoring

  • Assisting with and performing treatments and procedures

  • Maintaining medical equipment and supplies

  • Assisting with transportation of patients, supplies, specimens and medications

  • Responding to emergencies including initiation of emergency measures

  • And performing associated and delegated duties in support of departmental and hospital operations.

What you will need:

Required

  • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board for Certified Nursing Assistant (current EMT license will be accepted in lieu of CNA license)

  • High School Diploma

  • BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association)

  • Minimum one-year experience as certified nursing assistant (corpsman, or EMT/paramedic training may be alternatively considered), or equivalent education and training in basic disease processes, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.

Pay Range: $17.58 – $23.85

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
