PRIMARYPURPOSE: Undergeneralsupervision,maintaintheflowanddrainageofwater,air,andothergasesbyassembling,installing, andrepairingpipes,fittings,andplumbingfixtures district wide.Maintainandprovideforthesafeconditionand operationofallplumbingsystemsindistrictfacilities.
MAJORRESPONSIBILITIESANDDUTIES MaintenanceandRepair Assemble,install,maintain,andpressuretestallpipes,fittings,andfixturesofheating,water, drainage,sprinkler,andgassystemsaccordingtospecificationsandplumbingcodes. Detectneededrepairsonbuildings,grounds,andequipmentfollowingestablishedinspection procedures.Determinesourcesofplumbingmalfunctionsandcompleterepairsasindicatedor accordingtoworkorders. Installandrepairpipes,fittings,valves,fixtures,andplumbingsystemequipmentincludingsinks, commodes,andwaterheaters.Installandrepairkitchenequipmentsuchasgasstovesand dishwashers. Receiveandcompleteworkorders.Selectmaterialandhardwareandmaketimeandmaterials estimates.Maintainaccuraterecordsonmaterialandlaborused. Inspectjobsuponcompletionandensureareasareclean. Workwithbuildingprincipalsandsupervisorstocompleteprojects. Respondtoemergencycallsasneeded.
Safety: Maintaininventoryofdistrict-ownedtools,equipment,andmaterials.Performpreventative maintenanceontoolsandequipmentandensurethatequipmentisinsafeoperatingcondition. Followestablishedsafetyproceduresandtechniquestoperformjobdutiesincludingliftingand climbing.Operatetoolsandequipmentaccordingtoestablishedsafetyprocedures. Correctunsafeconditionsinworkareaandpromptlyreportanyconditionsthatarenot immediatelycorrectabletosupervisor.
QUALIFICATIONGUIDELINES Education/Certification/Experience: HighSchooldiplomaorGED.Valid Texasjourneymanplumberslicense.ClearandvalidTexasdrivers license. Fiveyearsofplumbingexperience.
