Esko is a market leader providing software & hardware solutions for the packaging industry, including print workflow and packaging design software such as Automation engine, Artpro, Equinox and Artioscad. We design and manufacture Cyrel Digital Imagers (CDIs) which are used to produce digital flexo printing plates for flexo printing press’s. We also design and manufacture Crystal exposure devices (XPS) which are used to produce highly consistent digital flexo plates. Our solutions also extend to Print inspection (AVT), color measurement, press control, proofing and verification.

Our ideal Field service engineer will:

You will have proven experience working with high value production devices and be able to handle the pressure that goes hand in hand with 24/7 production environment’s. You will have experience working with similar imaging/exposure/print inspection devices and be familiar with printing processes.

Your main activities will be to perform Maintenance, Service and Installation visits at customer site, mainly in Belgium, Netherlands, North of France and West Germany but potentially in Europe as well. In addition, you will also perform trainings to customers in their premises and in our Vision Center In Gent (Belgium).

In your role at Esko, you will:

• Responsible for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting/repair of AVT Hardware

• Instruct the customer about the day-to-day use and maintenance of their Esko hardware and front end/user interface software

• Install and configure front end/user interface software

• Work in close collaboration with the regional Service manager, Sales, global support, hardware support and customer support team’s to quickly resolve any issues on site

• Submit detailed service visit reports and facilitate spare part requests/returns

• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical drawings

• Goes above and beyond to deliver excellent levels of customer satisfaction

• Enjoy traveling in the country or in Europe

Your Education and/or Background Experience will have:

The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to successfully perform this role. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training, which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.

• Electrical/electronic engineering qualification or a college diploma

• Experienced field service engineer

• Experience in troubleshooting and responding to customers concerns

• Good level of mechanical exposure/experience

• Proficient level of computer skills including MS word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

• Ability to work in a fast paced, self directed, entrepreneurial environment

• Strong time management skills

• Decision making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills.

• Ability to multi task activities with shifting priorities.

• Able to work productively in a pressurised environment

• Experience and exposure working with similar imaging/exposure devices

• Good knowledge of software applications, operating systems/PC’s/networks

• Good language skills; English and Dutch, French is a nice to have. Other European languages are a plus
