Minimum Qualifications Four years of experience and/or training in grounds maintenance work, of which two years involved supervisory experience over subordinates; or one year as a Supervisor of Grounds.When required to operate a motor vehicle, applicants must possess a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated. As determined by the State agency or campus, some positions may be required to possess appropriate license or certification to apply pesticides, herbicides and other treatments.
Duties Description The SUNY Geneseo Facilities Department is looking for a reliable and dedicated individual to join our team as a Head Grounds Supervisor.In this role, you’ll serve as manager of the grounds maintenance operations. You’ll oversee Facilities Operations Assistants 1 and 2 (Grounds) responsible for maintaining the appearance and condition of grounds, gardens, athletics fields, walkways, parking lots, and roads on the campus.Your responsibilities will include:-training employees and providing detailed oral and written instructions to direct reports;-managing all administrative functions for grounds and garage personnel-project planning-procurement and purchasing services-personnel and employee relations-inventory and budget projections and analysis
