We are seeking a professional like you to be part of the Automation, Controls and Electrical team within the Technical Expertise department. We expect a highly qualified individual who will identify, champion, implement and maintain Process Automation Systems, specializing in the Advanced Process Control Technology area. This position is part of the global E&M Strategy to establish and build up knowledge in the area of Advanced Process Control in the North American region. You will provide a key contribution to the North American manufacturing sites on their Journey to Operational Excellence.

As a Staff Advanced Process Control Engineer, You Create Chemistry By...

• Providing expertise in the functional design and implementation of process automation, such as process control strategies, model predictive control applications and real-time optimization, develop cost / benefit analyses for potential new projects, being able to provide training for operators and engineers.

• Collaborating with Global Technical Expertise Community (GTEC) for Automation and evaluating of new developments in advanced process control technology.

• Sustaining existing Advanced Process Control applications - analyzing and tracking performance and implement corrective actions.

• Troubleshooting process control problems - Identifying causes, making recommendations and implementing improvements.

• Providing leadership on project teams, which will include assisting with developing project approval package and participation in approval review meetings.

• Evaluating new developments in advanced process control technology and maintaining overview of APC activities in the North American region.

If you...

• Have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred or in related fields with a minimum of 10 years of experience.

• Have strong technical knowledge in basic control concepts including Advanced Regulatory Control.

• Have technical knowledge in Advanced Process Control, basic process control and control theory.

• Posess fundamental knowledge of unit operations in the Process Industry, such as reactors, distillation towers, heat exchangers.

• Have the fundamental knowledge of controls systems, and a basic understanding of the various types of pressure, level, temperature, and flow instrumentation.

• Have availabitity to travel between 30% and 50% of the time.
