General Repair Helper

Job Details:

• Duration : The position is temporary, lasting 2 weeks, possibly extending to 4 weeks.

• Pay Rate/Salary : $18-$20 per hour depending on experience.

• Start Date : Immediate availability required.

Required Qualifications:

• Basic math, reading comprehension, and writing skills.

• Basic knowledge and general use of hand and power tools.

• Dependable and manages time effectively.

• Ability to work independently or as a team member.

• Ability to work M-F 6:30am-3:00pm (Monday - Friday).

• Previous industrial, manufacturing, or railroad experience is preferred but not required.

• Mechanical, welding, or valve knowledge/experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in all functional areas of the location and provide support to Repair Technicians and Leads.

• Maintain organization of repair track/shop tools.

• Manage scrap and trash detail.

• Perform stenciling.

• Replace brake shoes.

• Conduct securement repairs that do not require hot work.

• Gather materials required by Repair Technicians for repairs.

• Assist with inbound materials and maintain stock inventory.

• Operate a forklift as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support the rail division.
