Your Role

The Quality Health and Safety Expert acts as ‘Qualified Occupational Health and Safety Specialist’ as required under Turkish legislation, provides advice on QSHE matters, in connection with Local and International Legislative Framework and Health and Safety Policy.

Your Responsibilities

  • Providing "the competent assistance" role by the management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations as well as corporate Quality, Safety & Health, and Environment continuous improvement activities;

  • Developing, implementing, enforcing, and supporting management systems including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 27001 HACCP, IFS, and Kuehne + Nagel Chain Solutions;

  • Ensuring that the integrity of the management system is maintained when changes to the local or corporate management system are planned and implemented;

  • Subject matter expertise for Quality, Safety Health, Environment, and Security matters within the Gebze Warehouses;

  • Assist in root cause analysis and problem-solving for CAPA raised & Following Tool to Improve Process (TIP Tool);

  • Following and supporting Food Safety Management System in WHs;

  • Control, monitoring, and implementation of company-related sustainability projects;

  • Establishing a Risk Assessment team within the organization, carrying out risk assessments; planning and following corrective & preventive activities according to risk assessment outcomes;

  • Developing and providing the "Safe System Work Instructions" according to safety risk assessment outcome as well as local regulations, following occupational safety-related local regulations; informing the national management about safety-related regulatory changes or new rules that would have an impact on company activities;

  • Carrying out QSHE internal audits and site inspections; completing site visit reports promptly and submit to the appropriate Kuehne+Nagel responsible, partners and persons together with recommended actions;

  • Organizing and providing necessary occupational safety and health-related training in line with local regulations;

  • Monitoring work-related incidents and injury claims; monitoring their frequency and quantum; planning and controlling related preventive actions against re-occurrence as well as supervising occupational work incident investigations;

  • Preparing and reviewing periodically local documents such as policies, work instructions, forms, manuals, etc. making recommendations for improvement, and assisting the customer transition and integration team on new premises and businesses related to QSHE.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree from engineering and related departments;

  • An analytical mindset is required;

  • Experience in logistics is highly preferred;

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a safety specialist, minimum 2 years team leader position;

  • Knowledge of National Environment, Health, and Safety Regulations;

  • ISO 45001/ISO14001/ knowledge/certification is a must;

  • ISO 9001, ISO 22001, ISO 27001, and Business Continuity experience are a plus;

  • At a minimum, a Safety Specialist Certificate B level is required;

  • An upper intermediate level of English is a must;

  • Proficient in MS Office Applications and PC skills and proven reporting skills;

  • Having B class driving license.
