Position Summary

Performs mechanical repairs, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, installs, modifies, collects data, and modifications on, but not limited to, all facilities and production-related equipment. Consistently demonstrates the ability to confidently perform all required job functions and complete them on time with minimal or no supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment includes but is not limited to all production and facility-related equipment.

  • Maintains all facilities and production equipment records, including but not limited to calibrating, aligning, lubricating, inspecting, ordering, researching, etc.

  • Consistently demonstrates a solid knowledge required for troubleshooting/repairs of all facility & production equipment, including but not limited to the logical diagnosis of problems, identification and replacement of defective components, the disassembly and the reassembly, startup, and operation of all equipment.

  • Install new and modify existing systems to include assignments required by engineering, other personnel, or system demands.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Written & verbal communication skills, production equipment controls ( pneumatic & hydraulic ), facilities pneumatic system, compressed air systems, personal computer operations, reading and interpreting instrumentation and piping diagrams, equipment service, and operating manuals.

  • Fabricates parts from drawings or samples using various materials.

  • Machine parts are to close tolerances and/or specifications as directed or required. Works with but not limited to all metal products (steel, alum …), plastics, wood… Has a solid knowledge of material coefficients and can compensate for such variances.

  • Performs other typical duties consistent with job factors as required, or the supervisor may request that.

  • Collaborates & freely shares working knowledge with all teammates regardless of position.

Equipment and Tools:

  • Consistently demonstrated the ability to properly operate various hand/power tools and test equipment, including precision calipers and micrometers, infrared, vibration, ultrasonic, personal computers and programs, ladders, man lifts, fork trucks, and hand trucks.

  • All general machine shop tools, equipment, lathes, mills, and surface and belt grinders…..

  • Ability to stick, & mig weld, use cutting torches and plasma cutters.

Safety Requirements:

  • Must follow prescribed safety procedures for each work area.

Physical Activities:

  • Balancing, depth perception, lifting, standing, bending, eyestrain, normal vision, stooping, carrying, feeling, pulling, talking, climbing, handling, pushing, hearing, reaching, turning, crawling, walking, crouching, kneeling, sitting.

Working Conditions:

  • Heat, cold, weather, dirty, greasy, dusty, low light, dark, confined space, heights, hazardous materials/wastes.

Education / Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED & a minimum of 5 years experience in a related mechanical or maintenance field.

Minimum Qualifications

Typically requires a high school degree; or 1-2 year vocational training / associates degree
