Position: Special Education Teacher Resource Room
Location: Laura E. Richards School
Date Position Available: Immediate Opening for the Remainder of the 2024-2025 School Year
Qualifications: Special Education (282) Certification and current CHRC Authorization through State of Maine Department of Education.
Description: MSAD 11 is seeking an exceptional educator with a strong background in elementary resource room-based services; providing reading, writing, mathematics, and behavioral instruction to students. If you are a dedicated, energetic, and enthusiastic professional ready to make a real impact, we want you!
The ideal candidate will:
- Craft innovative inclusive lesson plans infused with research-based strategies and accommodations to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential
- Utilize ongoing assessment data to monitor student progress, identify areas for growth, and adjust instruction, accordingly, ensuring that all students make continuous gains in their identified areas
- Demonstrate a passion for education and a commitment to ensuring that all students have access to high-quality instruction
- Have strong knowledge of best practices in special education, including differentiated instruction, Universal Design for Learning, and the use of assistive technology
- Possess strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues
- Access and adapt curricula to craft innovative lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners
