Robert Half Human Resources Technician in Gardena, California

Description We are seeking a Human Resources Technician to join our team in Gardena, California. This role operates within the non-profit industry and offers a contract-to-hire employment opportunity. Main responsibilities will revolve around the management of day-to-day operations within general human resource functions and providing limited technical guidance to employees and/or supervisors regarding classification, selection, and labor relations issues.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the recruitment process for staff, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations governing recruitment and discrimination.

• Manage the pre-employment process for staff, collecting necessary documents needed to process applicants for employment.

• Respond to verifications of employment, salary verifications, compensation surveys, and classification requests.

• Assist in departmental/area recruitment activities such as scheduling interviews, reserving interview spaces, collecting applicant screening documents, implementing applicant testing, and developing recruitment and interview materials.

• Maintain accurate records by entering data into Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) related to new employee information and personnel actions.

• Develop and manage personnel files, ensuring all employee records and personnel action forms are properly filed.

• Troubleshoot issues related to the applicant tracking software and provide access to staff that requires use of the system for recruitment purposes.

• Engage and support historically minoritized groups by addressing issues of equity and improving culturally responsive service-oriented practices.

• Prepare reports such as professional development attendance reports, EEO reports, and employment reports. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in Human Resources administration

• Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred

• Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
