Job Summary:

The Certification Engineer defines and coordinates certification requirements internally and with regulatory agencies and customers throughout all phases of projects. They will author, check, and facilitate approval of documents for projects to which they are assigned. This job requires providing input and guidance to the engineering team regrading certification-specific issues throughout the life cycle of projects to which they are assigned.

Summary of Duties:

• Prepare, revise, and obtain approval of certification documents, including but not limited to Project Specific Certification Plans, Conformity Plans, Qualification Plans, Certification Summary Reports, Declarations of Design and Performance, and other miscellaneous compliance plans and reports.

• Interpret and review engineering drawings and certification documents for certification aspects.

• Provide support during the early phases of the project to ensure all certification requirements are identified, planned for, and scheduled.

• Coordinate project descriptions, certification requirements and methods of compliance with all disciplines during all phases of the projects.

• Coordinate release and obtain approval of all assigned qualification/compliance plans and reports.

• Assist in defining the project certification and conformity requirements that will be included in Project Specific Certification Plans, Conformity Plans, and Qualification Plans.

• Prepare for, participate in, and assist in the meetings and telecons with all disciplines, regulatory agencies and customers during the course of projects to ensure that all aspects of the certification requirements are planned for and satisfied.

• Other job duties may include:

o Actively work with the quality assurance disciplines to ensure conformity inspections and documentation are planned for and accomplished, and that all project conformity records have been submitted for review and approval.

o Responsible for proper handling to assure accurate recording and filing of the originals for STC related acquirement.

o Coordinates with Quality Assurance department to apply for PMA.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Complementary Description

The expected salary range for this position is between $96,760 - $152,050 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.

Job Requirements

Education: BS Engineering/Science OR 2-Yr Technical degree with 3-5 years of experience in field, plus experience as listed below

Experience:

• 10+ years of engineering experience

• Fully understand and apply all applicable engineering processes

• Excellent technical knowledge about aircraft industry standard certification practices

• Excellent technical knowledge about industry standard CAE software, especially Cosmos, FEMAP, NASTRAN, OptiStruct, Radios, Hypermesh etc.

• Excellent technical knowledge about Boeing/FAA and Airbus/EASA airworthiness regulations and technical specifications

Computer Skills:

• Thorough knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
