Job Description:
Performs varying standardized laboratory assignments and experiments.
Job Duties:
Under direct supervision, performs standard research assignments involving a series of related operations.
Sets up and conducts standard research experiments following detailed technical instructions.
Prepares biological assays and conducts basic quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Maintains records of all tests performed and data collected.
Assists in the compilation and tabulation of data and provides preliminary analysis.
Assembles, calibrates, operates, and makes minor modifications to a variety of laboratory equipment as defined by appropriate guidelines.
Adheres to internal controls established for department.
Performs related duties as required.
Department Marketing Statement:
The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting basic laboratory activities such as isolating proteins and nucleic acids from tissue, perform immunohistochemistry studies, using confocal microscopy, purifying cDNA plasmids, running gel electrophoresis, performing basic sub-cloning, and basic virological assays such as propagation and titration. In addition, the applicant will maintain records of available research animals and oversee animal colonies. It would also be expected that the applicant will be eventually able to execute basic animal study techniques. The applicant will work initially under supervision of senior experts, and he/she is expected to gain independency after proper training is complete. The applicant will be responsible for collecting data and summarize results for publication and/or presentation purposes.

Salary Range : Actualsalarycommensuratewith experience or range if discussed and approved by hiring authority.

Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm and as needed on occasion.
