Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent in related field and two years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with various small-sized to medium-sized area networks (i.e., LAN's, WAN's).
Job Summary:
To provide hardware/software support and the technical skills required to administer, design, modify and maintain a network configuration at the department/school level.
Job Duties:
Analyzes, designs, and administers or assists in the performance of network connections/ configurations at the school/department level.
Manages the performance of four to five software packages from fairly simple to complex levels of sophistication.
Provides training and support of these packages to staff, faculty and management.
Provides programming skills of basic to moderate complexity, utilizing established languages.
Consults with vendors, faculty, staff, and management concerning projected enhancements to hardware/software and networking capabilities.
Oversees or assists in the physical set-up of communication connections.
Performs basic to moderately complex problem determination of reports and resolution, identifying problems at the school/department level.
Assists management/supervisor with the development of reports and procedures to optimize the benefits of network capabilities.
Provides staff, faculty and management with training and assistance in the utilization of various software products (i.e., spreadsheets, data bases, word processing, and statistical packages.)
Adheres to internal controls established for department.
Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Programming of Cisco network equipment.
Salary Range:
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
On-site, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, and as needed on occasion.
