Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in the metal distribution industry, based in Galt, California, 95632, United States. In this role, you will be actively involved in all aspects of financial operations and accounting, managing processes such as inventory management, cost control, and strategic financial planning.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the entire accounting functions to ensure accurate and punctual financial reporting
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures
• Handle all facets of inventory accounting, including valuation, physical counts, obsolescence management, and cost analysis
• Actively contribute to strategic planning, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives
• Generate and release monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, adhering to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control
• Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
• Utilize your skills in Accounting Functions, Auditing, and Budget Processes to enhance financial operations and reporting. Requirements
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position
• Demonstrable expertise in managing Accounting Functions
• Proven experience in conducting Auditing processes
• Proficiency in managing Budget Processes
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (Master's degree or relevant certifications preferred)
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Proficient in various financial management software
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports
• Strong strategic planning and business development skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
