Job Description:

Responsible for monitoring Campus Master Plan implementation and revision, including processing plan amendments, preparing evaluation and appraisal reports and data analysis reports in accordance with Florida Statute and Board of Governors regulations. This responsibility includes assisting in maintaining a long-range vision that guides the physical development of University of Florida campus over the next 40 or more years in terms of land use, open space, density of development, primary circulation systems and linkages with the surrounding community. This assistance includes preparation of planning data, reports and studies as well as coordinating with construction projects.

Construction project support will include site analysis, program inputs, and site plan review to ensure Campus Master Plan compliance.

Utilization of a geographic information system for a variety of analyses is a primary responsibility along with assistance in ensuring accuracy of planning-related data maintained by others.

Responsible for the development, monitoring, and maintenance of various systems plans (e.g. Landscape Master Plan, Conservation Land Management Plan, etc.) and State Land Management Plans for university properties in accordance with Florida Statute.

Participation in various committees and working groups, possibly in a staff support role, will be essential.

Perform other facilities planning-related duties as assigned. These duties may include management of work performed under contracts, grants, or by consultants.

A criminal background will be conducted.

Work hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Work hours and days may vary with assignments and workload.

Expected Salary:

Expected starting salary $65,000-$75,000 based on experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree with major coursework in urban planning, regional planning, urban design, public administration, or a closely related field and one year of relevant professional experience; or a bachelor's degree in same and three years of professional experience in urban, regional, state, or campus planning

Preferred Qualifications:

Effective communication/presentation skills, speaking/writing abilities, and computer data analysis and mapping capabilities are essential.

Computer experience should include database and mapping capabilities with preference for experience with Geographic Information System (GIS) ArcPro, Building Information Systems (BIM) and AutoDesk software.

Familiarity with Florida growth management, environmental planning, urban design, and/or higher education administration is desirable but not required.

AICP certification preferred, but not required.
