Job Description:

The Research Administrator III (RA III) will be responsible for all aspects of pre and post award administration for the Department of Neurology. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of research administration, compliance, and funding regulations. The RA III will keep abreast of and advise Principal Investigators (PIs) and other departmental personnel on current policies and procedures from both internal and external sources as they relate to contracts and grants funding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of research grants and contracts, from proposal preparation and submission to award management and closeout.

  • Provide expert guidance to PIs and departmental staff on funding opportunities, application processes, and regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure adherence to institutional policies and procedures as well as external regulations from agencies such as WIRB, NIH, DOD, etc.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of compliance requirements from internal sources (DSR, Office of Research, Compliance Office, IRB, IACUC, etc.) and external sources.

  • Develop and implement administrative processes and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of grant and contract management.

  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and collaboration.

  • Assist with the preparation and submission of progress reports, renewals, and other required documentation.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience to $85,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in grant and contract administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of University of Florida, State, and Federal rules, regulations, policies and procedures

pertaining to extramural grant and research contracts.

Comprehensive knowledge of the grant proposal process and experience with using UFirst.

Ability to interpret and apply grant & contract guidelines and regulations.

Must be able to work independently with demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to details.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel software.
