Job Description:

The Center for Pharmacogenomics and Precision Medicine (CPPM) at the College of Pharmacy is searching for an OPS Part-Time Laboratory Technician. This position is part-time, approximately 16 hours/week, but will vary week to week.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Operates and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

  • Cleans, maintains, and prepares supplies and work areas.

  • Assists with inventory of materials to maintain supplies.

  • Biological sample transport and processing for analysis.

  • Keeps detailed logs of all work-related activities.

  • Perform, as directed, safety compliance and uses Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.

  • Establish and maintain working relationships and good customer service skills.

  • Assist with the basic laboratory and safety training of others.

  • Perform other related duties including special projects as requested.

Expected Salary:

$15-18/hour, commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Successful completion of a college-level biology or chemistry laboratory course

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior biomedical laboratory work experience

Good language and communication skills

Good interpersonal skills
