Job Description:
Research:
Identify and prepare biolfluid samples for biomarker testing on Quanterix HD-X for 1Florida ADRC and UF collaborators.
Run Simoa assays, assess data for quality control, and share results with research team.
Conduct DNA extractions following standard protocols and perform genotyping using Taqman assays.
Perform data quality control and share results with research team.
Lab Management:
Prepare and ship samples for external biomarker testing while maintaining certification for shipping hazardous materials.
Receive biofluid sample shipments from 1Florida ADRC Clinical Cores, store samples in freezers, and log sample data (Excel, REDCap database).
Maintain biofluid freezer inventory, updating records when samples are added or removed for testing/shipping.
Collaborate with 1Florida ADRC Data Core to maintain a database for sample storage, sample tracking, and biomarker results.
Process biospecimen requests from external investigators.
Other Duties:
Stay up to date on literature relevant to the field.
Attend regular meetings.
Coordinate special studies or projects as directed.
Perform other tasks as requested and assigned by PI.
Work Environment:
The position involves working in a laboratory setting, with tasks including sample handling, database management, and maintaining a sterile environment.
Coordination with external labs and research teams is required.

Expected Salary:
$26.34 + benefits; commensurate with experience and qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Associate's degree in an appropriate area and two years of related experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of related experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DNA extraction, genotyping, and related laboratory protocols.
Proficiency in sample handling, tracking, and inventory management.
Familiarity with laboratory testing and data quality control processes.
Strong attention to detail in record-keeping and data management.
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects.
Ability to work collaboratively with research teams and external partners.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to prioritize and coordinate concurrent projects, manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
High level of professionalism, reliability and attention to detail.
