Job Description:
UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist I to join the HR Team in the Business Center, a unit within UFIT.
The Human Resources Generalist I for UF Information Technology delivers excellent service and is primarily responsible for assisting departments in the daily functions of talent acquisition, onboarding, off-boarding, supporting the compensation plan, leave administration, and payroll.
Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees who are dedicated to understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.
Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:
Perform full-cycle recruitment, hiring, position management and employee relations
Facilitate and coordinate onboarding, off-boarding, and employment change activities
Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; assist with training and development
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommends best practices, and reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Communicate and interpret policies and procedures for managers and employees

Benefits
Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.
Vacation-accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status. These leave days are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31, when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary:
$22.50 - $23.00 per hour; commensurate based on education and experience
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and skills:
Knowledge of UF HR systems (i.e., ePAF system, Equifax, HireRight, Peoplesoft, PageUp)
One year of experience working in a higher education institution
Ability to work collaboratively as a team player
Exhibit a professional demeanor conveyed in all interactions, communication, appearance, and presentation
Excellent judgment and decision making
Accuracy, attention to detail
Understand and deliver excellent customer service through professional interactions with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

This role is based in one of our Gainesville offices and may include a hybrid schedule: three days in the office (Wednesday required) and two days remote.
