Job Description:

PrismaP is a multi-disciplinary center focused on developing and providing sustainable support and leadership for transformative medical AI research, education, and clinical applications to advance patients' health in critical and acute care medicine. PrismaP addresses an unprecedented opportunity for world-leading ambient, immersive, and artificial intelligence (AI2) research and innovation to transform the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment for critically and acutely ill patients using the multimodal clinical and research data and resources from UF Health (UFH), one of Florida’s largest health care systems.

We are looking for motivated and qualified graduate students to join our team and contribute to developing an LLM-driven chat bot aimed at enhancing patient care through advanced machine learning and natural language processing capabilities. This project involves creating a comprehensive AI system, including data curation, model fine-tuning, RAG, and real-time interaction through text or voice chat.

Responsibilities:

  • Dataset Preparation and Curation:

    Work on cleaning and curating large-scale datasets to be used for fine-tuning language models, ensuring high quality and relevance of data.

  • Model Fine-Tuning and Optimization:

    Develop and implement a fine-tuning pipeline for large language models utilizing multiple GPUs and nodes for efficient processing.

  • Pipeline Deployment for RAG:

    Deploy and manage a pipeline for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), integrating external knowledge sources to enhance the LLM's response quality.

  • Implementation of Guardrails:

    Set up Guardrails to ensure the AI companion's responses are safe, secure, and trustworthy, mitigating risks associated with LLM-generated content.

Expected Salary:

$18/hr

Minimum Requirements:

  • Enrolled in a graduate program in computer science, machine learning, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

  • Experience with LLM fine-tune, natural language processing and data management.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and multi-GPU environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of large language models and experience in fine-tuning them.

  • Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies.

  • Understanding of ethical AI principles and secure software development practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

  • Experience with LLM fine-tune, natural language processing and data management.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and multi-GPU environments.
