Job Description:

This position, part of the General Accounting and Financial Reporting (GAFR) department within the CFO Division, is responsible for the financial reporting for University and provides guidance across the UF Enterprise and the CFO Division. This position will closely collaborate with the Associate Controller and Accounting Manager to ensure seamless operations of the entire General Accounting and Financial Reporting department. The incumbent must possess extensive knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, particularly those of colleges/universities and fund accounting. This position must possess good analytical and research skills, the ability to effectively communicate with various management levels UF Enterprise wide and the ability to plan and coordinate the completion of complex tasks with accounting personnel from all areas of the UF Enterprise.

Expected Salary: $85k - $95k

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in appropriate area and two years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Licensure as a State of Florida Certified Public Accountant strongly preferred, but not required.

This position requires a strong knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, specifically as these principles relate to college and university technical accounting, fund accounting and financial reporting.

This position requires a comprehensive knowledge of the PeopleSoft financial accounting system, and proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, Word and Internet Browsers.

Excellent communication skills are required as well as the ability to work with individuals at multiple levels.

Must display a positive attitude and be a team player – must be able to thrive in a collaborative environment.

Applicant should be familiar with PeopleSoft or other ERP systems.

Must have the ability to understand various business processes and translate them into technical solutions.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
