Job Description:
The University of Florida is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Admissions Officer. In this role, you will coordinate on-campus and nationwide events and manage recruitment efforts in an assigned territory, provide admissions counseling, assist in application reviews, and participate in decision-making processes.
Key responsibilities include:
Event Coordination
Design, execute, and oversee logistics for a variety of events for the Office of Admissions, including venue selection, catering, transportation, and more.
Maintain budget adherence and ensure high-quality event experiences.
Coordinate with Admissions staff to manage invitations, registration, and event resources.
Work with the Finance Team to review contracts and invoices.
Act as the on-site coordinator for on-campus events.
Assist with assigning staff and alumni for college fairs and travel programs.
Outreach and Recruitment
Overnight travel to assigned territory, including extended stays as needed, engaging with prospective students, parents, and school counselors. This includes using a state vehicle and occasionally driving long distances in support of recruitment efforts.
Conduct admissions presentations for large groups both on-campus and off-campus.
Provide admissions counseling to prospective students, parents, and school counselors.
Other Duties
Assist in holistic reviews of freshman applications.
Participate in decision-making and finalize applications for enrolled students.
Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor.
This position is located at the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, FL and may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management's policies.
Expected Salary:
$53,000 annually

Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
Valid driver's license is required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work and communicate across a variety of cultures
Ability to exercise good judgment and work with minimal supervision
Demonstrated abilities in leadership, problem solving and attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management skills
