Job Description:
TheDepartment of Obstetrics and Gynecology (https://obgyn.ufl.edu/) (OBGYN) at the University of Florida welcomes candidates to apply for anAdministrative Fellowshipposition. This will be a two-year, full-time paid position classified as a Manager of Health Care Administration that provides high-impact, practical learning experiences for emerging healthcare leaders. This fellowship offers an in-depth understanding of healthcare operations within the diverse and multifaceted OBGYN service lines, including inpatient, outpatient, surgical, and clinic-based care. This position is expected to start in July 2025 . Upcoming spring master’s program graduates are welcome to apply!
Fellows will engage in hands-on, operational, and financially focused projects while participating in leadership activities that foster professional growth. Fellows will gain experience in high-level strategic planning and operational functions such as finance, budgeting, quality improvement, clinical operations, provider scheduling, revenue cycle management, and cross-departmental collaboration. Reporting to the Department Director and other designated preceptors, fellows will collaborate on a wide range of initiatives aimed at enhancing process efficiencies, driving revenue growth, and improving patient care quality.
In addition to observing executive-level decision-making processes, fellows will work with leadership teams across OBGYN and other key departments, such as Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesia, and Surgery. Fellows will develop skills in project management, data analysis, and process improvement, while contributing to projects with measurable impacts on departmental financial performance and operational success.
Responsibilities include:
Project Management:
Facilitate and manage cross-functional, complex projects as assigned by the senior management team.
Contribute to initiatives that enhance financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and quality care delivery.
Research, analyze, and apply practical solutions to administrative challenges, leveraging internal and external resources.
Collaboration and Leadership Development:
Collaborate with leaders across OBGYN and other departments to support interdisciplinary projects and institutional goals.
Develop leadership skills through mentorship, professional development activities, and active participation in strategic initiatives.
Attend Grand Rounds, Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) seminars, and other relevant educational programs.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Prepare and distribute financial and non-financial reports to inform decision-making and project outcomes.
Conduct revenue cycle analysis and develop actionable strategies for improvement.
Identify opportunities for increased operational efficiency and effectiveness through data-driven recommendations.
Professional Development:
Participate in departmental and institutional meetings to gain exposure to strategic planning and executive decision-making.
Receive mentorship to explore areas of personal and professional interest, with feedback provided in a constructive and professional manner.
Other Duties:
Serve as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders to support departmental and institutional initiatives.
Perform additional duties as assigned to enhance professional growth and contribute to the success of the fellowship.

Expected Salary:
$65,000 Annually
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, Nursing Administration, or an equivalent program.
Applicants must have earned their degree before the fellowship start date.
Prior healthcare experience, including internships, and evidence of leadership through professional or community involvement.
