K&N's Foods USA, LLC Refrigeration Utilities Technician in Fulton, New York
K&N Foods in Fulton, NY has an immediate full time opening for an Refrigeration Utilities Technician. This is an entry level position and we will train incumbent to operate and maintain boilers, electrical, compressors, condensers, fans, pumps, heating, cooling, contactors, motors, microprocessors, frequency drives, HVAC, waste treatment system, fire systems, and refrigeration systems, etc. Repair all plant equipment, facilities and trouble shoot in a safe, sanitary and efficient manner. This position may be scheduled to work either first, second, or third shift (24/7 operation). Participate as a team member by exhibiting reliable and dependable work habits which includes assisting others as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate industrial refrigeration and heating, steam generation and air conditioning systems according to Ashrae or equivalent standards.
Working knowledge of ammonia screw compressors, electrical troubleshooting of control/alarm systems, and compressed air systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex problems involving mechanical and refrigeration systems, digital and analog controls, electrical distribution and wiring, plumbing, HVAC and building mechanical systems.
Ability to rebuild and test equipment, such as compressors and valves.
Understand schematics and blueprints (pneumatic, hydraulic, basic electrical, refrigeration, etc.).
Knowledge of piping systems and installation.
Responsible for PSM documentation.
Ability to work independently as well as a team member
Perform all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including recommending and taking appropriate corrective action.
Industrial refrigeration (HVAC) skills are desired, but not require
Working knowledge of industrial mechanical techniques and operation of machine shop equipment; i.e., lathe, saws, milling machine, precision measuring instruments.
Ability to read and understand electrical system drawings.
Must be able to pass physical examination and Respirator FIT testing.
Ability to lift heavy objects and frequent climbing of ladders, and work at high elevations.
Possess good written and verbal communication, detail oriented and highly motivated.
Ability to work in an environment with exposure to noise, cleaning agents, extreme temperatures, dusty conditions and humidity.
Good verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented and highly motivated.
Computer skills including the use of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
RATE OF PAY: $17.00- $18.00 per hour depending on experience
