The Business Systems Analyst (Cobra EVM) acts as a liaison between IT development groups and business units for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of current systems. Evaluates new applications, system requirements, developments in field of expertise, and evolving business needs to recommend appropriate solutions and alternatives. Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices. Uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes. May provide guidance to less experienced team members.
Responsibilities:
Under general direction, candidate will perform a full range of advanced level professional duties and serve as a Cobra Subject Matter Expert/EVM and support for critical business functions in support of programs and projects.
Assist in the development of Cobra reports and advising the contract/project management team as it relates to business tools to support program/project setup, system architecture and procedures to achieve Program/Project goals.
Provide tools training to the Business Management/PP&C staff; provides guidance in Planning and supporting EVM FAR policies.
Assist with direction for the support, maintenance and monitoring of the solutions infrastructure. Functional scope will also cover report generation, tools standardization and sox's controls.
Collaborate with end-users, management, vendors, and IT colleagues across the organization.
Support Ad hoc cross functional Enterprise Systems Team, Business Systems initiative as it relates to new application role outs, migrations, and special assignments.
Detailed Expectations:
Serve as technical tools advisor to the PP&C teams using Cobra and other Planning Tools.
Support the Business Units in the set up and tool’s integration of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), OBS, Rate tables, Resource structures and Calendars for new Contracts/Projects.
Support PP&C with implementation of EVM in Cobra.
Support contracts/projects to successful conclusions by determining the operational environment for new applications /solutions in alignment with the corporate standards.
Communicate and report on all business systems activities to colleagues and management.
Support new corporate initiates, as requested.
Participate in projects implementing applications and solutions that are strategic enablers to business goals and develop knowledge of business processes.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline (e.g. Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Information Systems) and a minimum of 5+ years’ relevant experience, or 10+ years equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
• Knowledge of Integrated Project Management Principles and Guidelines.
• EVM knowledge of ANSI/EIA- 748A.
• Experience in Project Control Business Practices.
• Experience with Deltek Cobra Project Setup and report development
• Experience with integrating project scheduling tools such as Open Plan, Primavera, and MS Project.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint).
• Excellent in quantitative, analytical, interpersonal, and communications skills.
• Ability to develop Cobra Report Templates
• Knowledge of Deltek Products, (Deltek Cobra, Costpoint/Cognos)
• Expert in MS Excel, preferred
• Training experience, preferred
• PMP or EVM related Certifications, preferred.
