Trinity Health Maintenance Mechanic in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

Description:

Holy Cross Health is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team for the evening shift, M-F, 11pm to 7:30am and call as needed. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various mechanical systems and equipment at offsite locations during these critical hours. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and providing a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

What you will do:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and medical equipment.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and system failures.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.

  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to address and resolve maintenance issues promptly.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hospital policies.

  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.

  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical systems preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting and working in confined spaces.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
