APTIM Work Control Supervisor in Ft. Irwin, California

Job Overview:

As a Work Control Supervisor with HDSS/APTIM, you will perform administrative and professional work for the team. You will be

responsible for assigning job duties to individual staff members and prioritizing workloads. Responsibilities include day-to day

supervision of all work performed by the GFEBS, Work Control Dispatch Clerks, Purchase Request (PR) Clerk, Preventive

Maintenance (PM) Analyst and Drafter Technical Library. You will be responsible for planning, inspecting, and assigning work to

subordinate employees. You will ensure safe working conditions exist, safe work practices and prescribed Quality Control measures

are followed.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Execution of all implementation plans to meet customer requirements.

  • Provide effective supervision and technical assistance to all personnel connected with the Public Works Ops Group (i.e. Dispatch, PM, Drafter Technical Library, and PR Clerk).

  • Prepare correspondence, memorandums, Standard Operating Procedures/Plans, forms, reports, and other documents in accordance with established procedures.

  • Comply with Work Control guidance, policy and procedures.

  • Schedule training for Work Control personnel.

  • Schedule work orders to specific disciplines by using the estimated man-hours set for emergency, urgent, routing and other type work using a computerized work order management application.

  • Perform special assignments as assigned by PM or PW Manager.

  • Prepare Tracking Sheets for each team for all work that is scheduled the week.

  • Process work requests, service orders and generate reports using MAXIMO and GFEBS computerized work order system.

  • Promote a management team approach to Public Works operations.

  • Initiate and approve requisitions for supplies and equipment.

  • Create new Workorders (WO) and update General Ledger (GL) account codes for Period of Performance (POP) change overs.

  • Assign labor, crew codes technicians' number to work orders using a computerized work order management application.

  • Issue written and oral directions to all subordinates to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Public Works Division.

  • Oversee critical Public Works projects during execution.

  • Interface with government officials for PR approvals/denials as required and maintain regular contact with DPW Personnel regarding general Public Works Division activities and goals.

  • Maintain regular contact with Public Works Manager and peers to communicate daily work requirements and special projects.

  • Point of contact for coding questions with Finance office and provides workorder direction for timesheet corrections.

  • Work with project management to ensure budgetary guidelines are maintained.

  • Participate in advanced management training courses.

  • Participate in customer service improvement workshops.

  • Participate in new technology improvements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Supervises Work Control/GFEBS Team within Public Works Division as well as PM, Asset Maintenance, and PR Clerk workers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must possess high school diploma or equivalent. A degree in business would be preferred.

  • Must have four (4) years of related supervisory experience and at least two (2) years of experience in GFEBS

  • Must possess a valid California Driver's License.

  • GFEBS Certifications

  • CAC Required

The targeted salary for this position is $85,000- $88,000 per year.
