ABOUT THIS ROLE
St. Michael’s is hiring a Senior Contract Specialist and Task Lead to support a Department of Defense client. As a Senior Contract Specialist and Task Lead, you will oversee and manage the interface with Program Budget Offices to verify that deliverables have been received by the Government and all funds have been expended. Our core value of Commitment is paramount as you will initiate applicable contract modification documents, drafting documentation, and preparing the closeout file for the Contracting Officer’s review and approval.
This position is a temporary assignment expected to last approximately 1-3 years, as it will cover for an incumbent on military leave.
The term may be subject to adjustment based on the incumbent's return.
LOCATION
Ft. Belvoir, VA (on-site)
WHO YOU ARE
Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
Bachelor’s degree with at least 24 semester hours in accounting, law, business, finance, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
Minimum 7 years' experience in government contracting
Expert knowledge in pre-award source selection evaluations for C type contracts and IDIQ type contracts.
Expert knowledge administering cost reimbursable contracts and task orders.
DAWIA Contracting Level 3 and/or FAC-C Level 3

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting the Contracting Officer with performing contract closeout functions for Firm Fixed Price and Cost Reimbursable contracts.
Duties include interfacing with Program Office and Budget Office to verify that deliverables have been received by the Government and all funds have been expended.
Initiate applicable contract modification documents, drafting documentation, and preparing the closeout file for the Contracting Officer’s review and approval.
