Job Title: General assistant
Salary: £11.56 per hour
Location: Garston Veterinary Group, travel across all sites required
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 30 hours per week, 6 hour shifts either 7.30am until 1.30pm or 1.30pm until 7.30pm. Shifts will vary each week and the rota is published 2 months in advance.
Garston Veterinary Group are looking for highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic person to support our client care and clinical teams.
Role and responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Respond promptly, courteously and efficiently to all clients visiting the surgery
Prepare and close down clinical areas and consult rooms ready for the working day ahead, ensuring that areas are stocked and tidy
Assist clients with access to and from the reception area as necessary, by assisting with items such as pet carriers, large orders or by weighing pets,
Daily cleaning and deep cleaning of clinical areas in line with protocols and clinical standards
Unpack, shelve and appropriately account for all practice deliveries
Cleaning, disinfecting and maintenance of instruments and equipment
Liaise between veterinary professionals and clients to enable efficient working within the team.
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the reception and waiting areas, dealing promptly with incidents as they occur
To be the initial point of accepting samples and to ensure that they are delivered without delay to the appropriate clinical staff.
Administrative tasks to include printing, photocopying, filing and other duties as requested
Collect banking from Finance office and deliver the daily banking to the bank
Various duties involving the post and practice orders.
You may be asked to provide occasional support for other administrators, by developing an understanding of their roles and the ability to cover specific tasks on instruction in their absence.
