Golden State Foods Contract Manager in Frisco, Texas

Overview

Quality Custom Distribution, a division of Golden State Foods is seeking a Contract Manager to lead the management of contracts from initiation through negotiation, execution, and compliance. This position requires a detail-oriented, analytical individual with strong organizational and communication skills to manage contractual relationships, minimize risk, and ensure compliance with all legal and company guidelines.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contract Drafting & Negotiation:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring that terms align with company policies, objectives, and applicable laws.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (legal, finance, sales, procurement) to finalize contract terms and resolve any conflicts.

  • Contract Administration:

    • Oversee the administration of contracts from initiation to execution, ensuring timely and accurate contract completion.
  • Ensure that all contracts are properly recorded, tracked, and stored for easy retrieval.

  • Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Monitor contract compliance and performance to ensure that all parties meet their obligations and timelines.

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in contractual terms and conditions.

  • Ensure all contracts comply with regulatory, legal, and company standards.

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with GSF legal counsel to ensure all contracts comply with company policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards, providing legal insights during contract negotiations and dispute resolution.

  • Develop standard operating procedures for all processes; provide training and guidance to team members regarding contract management processes, policies, and best practices.

  • Work closely with various departments to ensure alignment of contract terms with company strategy.

  • Contract Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyze contract performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and report on key metrics.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on contract-related issues and trends.

  • Dispute Resolution:

  • Handle contract disputes and negotiations, working to resolve issues amicably and in compliance with contractual terms.

  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding contract-related queries and issues.

Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience and proven success in contract management, legal, procurement, or related fields.

  • Strong understanding of contract law, compliance, and risk management.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office Suite.

  • Ability to partner with leaders across various functions and and motivate others effectively.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Contract Management (e.g., Certified Professional Contracts Manager - CPCM).

  • Experience in a specific industry (supply chain, distribution and logistics).
